Getting permission to build the conservatory was a bit of a challenge because the house is on the Historical Registry. Ultimately permission was granted based on Lancaster's ability to blend the conservatory into the homes natural character. The room exterior is painted the same color as the house and the interior has been stained a rich mahogany color. The conservatory utilizes P3 window panels on a kneewall with transom windows above, a bronze polycarbonate roof, and dentil molding.
The following Conservatory Photo is of a Lancaster Conservatories Custom Conservatory. This beautiful conservatory incorporates a lantern in the roof structure, accentuated by copper roofing, and window arches. The walls are made up of full height P1 window panels with transoms above.
The following are Custom Conservatory Pictures of a Lancaster Conservatories Victorian/Windsor Custom Conservatory. Due to conditions that existed on the home prior to construction the use of a custom conservatory combination allowed the homeowners the room size they desired without any major modifications to the home itself. This particular conservatory serves as a sitting room, a greenhouse, and the favorite place for the family cats to relax in the sun all in the same room.
The custom conservatory is a Lancaster Conservatories Victorian F6 with a small Windsor wing on each side and utilizes P3 window panels with the transoms above along with a bronze polycarbonate roof. The use of different room styles combined to make a custom conservatory configuration is a perfect example of using the flexibility of the Lancaster Conservatories product to fit the existing conditions.

Some features of the conservatory are P3 window panels with the additional transom windows above. The conservatory roofing material is an opal polycarbonate that allows natural lighting and utilizes roof vents to increase ventilation. The conservatory has been painted inside and out to match the home and interior environment.
The following Conservatory Picture is of a Lancaster Conservatories Victorian Custom Conservatory installed. This particular project called for a room width that was not standard so the answer was to remove one of the front panels of a Victorian F4 to get the necessary dimension. The room incorporates full height P2 panels and a 30 degree polycarbonate roof system. The conservatory is primarily used as a greenhouse for trees and plants and is separated from the house with a set of doors to allow the room to be independent from the heating and cooling of the house.
The following are Sunroom Pictures of a Lancaster Conservatories Custom Victorian Sunroom installed on a floor deck above footings. The Lancaster components consist of wall sections of P3 window panels and transoms. The door that came out of the house wall was like new and we reused it in the front wall of the sunroom and then trusses were used to frame the roof. The exterior was painted to match the home and the interior was stained a beautiful dark mahogany. Upon completion of the project the room quickly became the family and dining room where they spend a majority of their relaxation time.
The following are Two Story Sunroom Pictures of a Lancaster Conservatories Two Story Sunroom that uses full height P1 panels to enclose the existing upper deck and patio below. This is an example of an Infill application where a majority of the structure was in place and we used the Lancaster wall panels and a short knee wall to create a 2-story sunroom.
The following are Sunroom Pictures of a Lancaster Conservatories Victorian F7 Sunroom installed on a concrete pad with footings. This particular project is on a corner lot in a beautiful historic neighborhood that needed to have a room addition that added character to the home. The Lancaster family room addition did just that. By using the same shingles and siding as the house and building the roof structure with trusses and a drywall ceiling inside the room, this Sunroom came out spectacular.
The following Sunroom Photos are of a Lancaster Conservatories Custom Sunroom installed on an elevated floor deck. The room uses a combination of full height P1 window panels and knee wall P3 panels all with the additional transom window above. The roof structure is made up of a solid hardwood rafter structure with the insulated roof structure above. The pitch of the roof is a magnificent 12/12 giving the room an interior height at the peak of over 16'. Incorporated in the transom windows is a leaded glass insert patterned to client preference. Cresting and Finial have been installed on the ridge of the roof to finish off the Victorian Sun room addition.
The following are Sunroom Pictures of a Lancaster Conservatories Victorian F5-17 Sunroom installed. This sun room has been painted a two tone color combination to perfectly match the house and cedar shake shingles were installed to blend the two roof sections. Other features include the full height P1 window panels, a pair of French doors, and the insulated roof system which enables efficient heating and cooling for 4 season use. This sunroom addition incorporates a split heat pump system for the conditioning of the space.
As you can see the Lancaster sunroom is a sun filled family gathering room perfect for reading, knitting, and conversation without the distractions from a television.
